Shooting Stars Chairman Commends Players’ Resilience After CS Sfaxien Victory, Applauds Governor Makinde’s Support

The Executive Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami has commended the players and technical crew of the Oluyole Warriors for their hard work, determination and persistence following the club’s crucial 1-0 victory over Tunisian side, CS Sfaxien, in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Ibadan-based club secured a slim but important first-leg advantage courtesy of Lucky Gyan Emmanuel’s 26th-minute strike, as Shooting Stars continued their impressive return to continental football.

Reacting to the victory, the Executive Chairman praised the players for their commitment and fighting spirit throughout the encounter, noting that the result was a reflection of their resilience and determination to make the club and its supporters proud.

He urged the players not to relent in their efforts, stressing that the victory represents only the first step as the team prepares for the crucial second-leg encounter.

The 3SC Chairman also expressed profound appreciation to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his huge and consistent support for the club, describing the governor’s commitment to the growth and development of Shooting Stars as remarkable.

Remember that the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has just approved the immediate release of two buses, a 32-seater and an 18-seater, to Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan to support the club’s activities.

According to him, Governor Makinde’s unwavering support has continued to provide the enabling environment and motivation needed for the team to compete at the highest level, both locally and on the continental stage.

He assured the governor and the numerous supporters of the Oluyole Warriors that the team would remain focused and determined to secure qualification to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Shooting Stars will head into the second leg with a one-goal advantage, hoping to build on their home victory and continue their journey in continental football.
