RAD’S BIRTHDAY: AKOBO BOILS AS OYO SSG, ADEKANMBI, POLITICAL LEADERS CONVERGE

The usually serene atmosphere of Elewuro, Akobo, Ibadan, was enlivened as political leaders, government functionaries, community stakeholders, women and youth leaders, family members, friends and well-wishers converged to celebrate the birthday of Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo, popularly known as RAD.

RAD, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, is also the Director of Women’s Mobilization of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) Apex Campaign Council in Oyo State, known as the Makinde/Adekanmbi Campaign Council.

The celebration attracted the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, as well as prominent elders from Akinyele/Lagelu, including Chief Babatunde Tijani, popularly known as Double T. The presence of the dignitaries added colour and political significance to the celebration, which was marked by goodwill, tributes and expressions of solidarity.

Among the notable APM figures at the gathering were the Director-General and Coordinator of the campaign council, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); Deputy Coordinator, Hon. Saheed Arowosaye (AROSAD), former Chairman of Oyo East Local Government; Deputy Directors-General representing the three senatorial districts, Hon. Demola Ojo, Dr. Femi Ojo and Alhaji Siju Lawal; and the Director of the Youth Wing, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa.

Also present were Hon. Akinwole Akinwale Wole Kanle, Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Commission and campaign council member; the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government and House of Representatives candidate; former Oluyole Council Chairman and chairmanship candidate, Hon. Popoola Olaide Settle; the Chairmen of Akinyele and Lagelu Local Governments; Egbeda Local Government Vice Chairman and chairmanship candidate, Hon. Simple; Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency candidate, Hon. Temitope Oladimeji, popularly known as OTOPE; Ibadan North I and Egbeda Assembly member, Hon. Comforter Olajide and Hon Sunkanmi Babalola; and Dr. Kunle Awotiku.

The gathering further featured Alhaja Wulemot Ibitoye, Iya Adinni of Lagelu West; members of the Oyo State Aspirants Forum (OYAF); Alhaji Olalekan Salaudeen, Borokini Adinni of Offaland; Alhaji Moruff Elelubo; Alhaji Salam Azeez, popularly known as Coded; Prince Falana Adebayo Adebowale of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development; Princess Afolashade Abeo Nurudeen, Iyaloja of Oyo State; the Chairman of BCOS; Big Daddy Sugar E.A. of BESDA; Marcadof Lagelu; S.A. Culture I; SSA Students; Babaloja-in-Council and media representatives; as well as Lagelu Party Chairman, Hon. Falola.

Youth groups, OBF, RAD Teams, PWLDs and other supporters also turned out in large numbers to identify with the celebrant. Media and political stakeholders, including Adigun Ibadan, Torex, Olajide Peter, Michael Ogunsina, PDP-APM Publicity Secretary in Oyo State, and Amb. Olumide Ojo, Oyo State APM Youth Leader, were also part of the celebration.

The event provided an opportunity for guests to celebrate RAD’s contributions to grassroots political mobilisation, particularly her efforts toward strengthening women’s participation and engagement within the political structure. Speakers at the gathering described her as a vibrant political stakeholder and grassroots mobiliser whose commitment has earned her the goodwill of colleagues, supporters and community stakeholders.

The celebrant was showered with prayers and goodwill messages, with guests wishing her greater accomplishments, wisdom, sound health and continued success in her public and political engagements.

The colourful gathering ended amid excitement of music by Taye Currency and renewed camaraderie among members of the political family, with family, friends and well-wishers joining the RAD Team in celebrating another milestone in her life.
