Wale Oke @ 70: PFN, Pentecostal Leaders Set For 2-Day Grand Finale In Ibadan

The Presiding Bishop of Sword of the Spirit Ministries and National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, will mark his 70th birthday on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, with a thanksgiving service at Cornerstone City, Ibadan.

This was contained in a statement by the Media Bureau of Sword of the Spirit Ministries.

According to the statement, the milestone celebration will climax a 10-day programme of activities beginning with the annual Holy Ghost Convention of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, slated for Sunday, August 30 to Sunday, September 6, 2026.

A Night of Tributes will be held on Monday, September 7, while the grand finale, the Thanksgiving Birthday Service, comes up on Tuesday, September 8.

All events will hold at Cornerstone City, Kilometer 22, off Ibadan-Lagos Expressway, Ibadan.

The celebrations are expected to attract Christian leaders, clergy, government officials, members of Sword of the Spirit Ministries at home and abroad, family members, friends and well-wishers from across Nigeria and around the world.

The statement described Bishop Oke as “a prominent figure in Nigeria’s Pentecostal movement for decades, an educationist and a globally recognized cleric committed to preaching the undiluted Word of God and raising a generation of Christian leaders.”

It added that the occasion “is more than celebrating the passage of years. It is to celebrate the grace of God upon the life of Bishop Oke, which has enabled him to advance the cause of the gospel with extraordinary passion, zeal and consistency, with tangible proofs abounding in Nigeria and across the world.”

The statement noted that the Holy Ghost Convention “is an annual flagship programme of Sword of the Spirit Ministries and will provide the opening platform for the celebration, bringing together people from all over the world for worship, teaching, prayer and spiritual renewal.”

It further stated that the Night of Tributes on September 7 “will provide an opportunity for family, friends, colleagues, church leaders and associates to celebrate Bishop Oke’s life, ministry and contributions to the Christian faith.”

“The 70th birthday thanksgiving service on September 8 will serve as the grand finale and an occasion for the celebrant and his loved ones to give thanks to God for seven decades of glorious life and service,” the statement concluded.
